Claudia M. Selgas is a bilingual communications professional based in South Florida with extensive experience in multiplatform content production and strategic communications in the U.S., U.S. Hispanic, and Latin American markets. She currently serves as Events Coordinator at Miami Waterkeeper, where she channels her strategic
communications background into mission-driven community engagement and fundraising events that support the protection of South Florida’s waterways.
Previously, Selgas spent 14 years at Paramount Global, where she gained extensive experience in corporate communications and production. As Communications Manager (2020–2024), she collaborated with C-level executives and cross-functional teams, guiding the strategy and execution of executive and culture communications and events across Paramount’s Spanish-language markets in Latin America, resulting in increased employee engagement and attendance.
In her Supervising Producer role (2010–2019), she oversaw all phases of production — from development to final delivery and distribution — of over 300 hours of scripted and reality series for Nickelodeon Latin America, Nickelodeon U.S., and MTV Latin America, and over 1,000 hours of daily and weekly entertainment news shows and music specials for U.S. Hispanic network Tr3s.
Earlier in her career, she held roles at The Walt Disney Company and local Miami television stations CBS Miami and WSFL, building her foundation in brand marketing and audience strategy, producing Emmy® nominated campaigns and leveraging CSR and in-market activations to elevate brand awareness. It was through her work with Neighbors 4 Neighbors, CBS Miami’s nonprofit partner, where she first channeled those skills toward community impact, pitching and producing human-interest stories and PSAs and launching the public e-newsletter Cause An Effect.
Selgas holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Miami. A dedicated endurance sports athlete, she served for many years as a Fundraising Mentor and Captain for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training — a commitment to community and cause that continues to inform her work at Miami Waterkeeper today.
