Miami Waterkeeper is excited to announce our new partnership with the Blackstone Charitable Foundation. Our organizations share a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and greener living and to the Miami community.

The Blackstone Charitable Foundation’s grant of $15,000 to Miami Waterkeeper will enhance our ability to monitor local water quality and train the community at large in how to preserve Miami’s waterways. Partners like the Blackstone Charitable Foundation allow us to continue our Junior Ambassador program and keep preparing the next generation of environmental leaders and scientists. Through our 1000 Eyes on the Water program–now available in Spanish–we virtually train community members how to identify and report pollution they see in their everyday lives. With our Junior Ambassadors, we provide them hands-on learning experiences in Biscayne Bay and teach them environmental advocacy skills. Applications to join the 2021-22 cohort are closed, but we encourage all interested 9-12 grade students to learn more here.

We’re excited about this partnership as well because it allows us to provide education on environmental sustainability to Blackstone’s Miami office and local employees through a series of planned engagement opportunities and partner with them to make a positive impact in our local communities.

We are grateful for our increased capacity to create change thanks to this partnership. Our mission–ensuring swimmable, drinkable, fishable water for all–benefits everyone, and we’re proud to partner with the Blackstone Charitable Foundation to make this happen.
