Another group of conservationists plans to sue US government unless they save manatees

Florida Today reported that Miami Waterkeeper, alongside the Center for Biological Diversity, Harvard’s Animal Law & Policy Clinic, and a Puerto Rico engineer, filed notice of intent to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for failing to restore manatees to “endangered” status — a 2017 downgrade the coalition ties to a starvation crisis that has killed some 2,000 manatees in two years. “The science is clear that this species is declining precipitously,” said our Executive Director Rachel Silverstein, “and therefore clearly merits uplisting.”
